Expansion of AANDHM Membership Strengthens Regional Disaster Health Collaboration

The ASEAN Academic Network on Disaster Health Management (AANDHM) is established to promote and support academic, research, and learning initiatives among ASEAN Member State. This goal is to strengthen disaster health management in the region. This AANDHM includes the membership of the network, consisting of institutions from ASEAN Member States and non-ASEAN Institutes.  This diverse membership aims to enhance academic and educational activities related to disaster health management (DHM).

The involvement of institutions from ASEAN Member States and beyond is expected to foster collaboration with the AANDHM National Focal Point Institutes (NFP) and other relevant stakeholders. This engagement will contribute significantly to advancing the field of disaster health management through shared expertise and resources.

The members include leading institutes and universities from Japan, Singapore, and Thailand. Their inclusion in AANDHM is expected to foster greater knowledge-sharing and cooperative efforts among academics, practitioners, and policymakers. This move highlights AANDHM ongoing commitment to developing a comprehensive and inclusive way dedicated to advancing disaster health initiatives across Southeast Asia.

The AIDHM plays a role as the AANDHM Secretariat eagerly anticipates its new members’ valuable contributions and active participation as they work together to create a safe and resilient ASEAN region with the knowledge approach. In this spirit of cooperation, AIDHM invites all academic institutions within ASEAN Member States and beyond to join the network, share their expertise, and collectively enhance the region’s capacity in the knowledge management on the Disaster Health Management scope.
